Ficus-Green Island. Sm

Very small specimens of this variety, bright shiny leaves are characteristic. Two are pictured together and generally have the same specifications.

Ficus microcarpa, var. Green Gem is the botanical reference for this plant. Mature trees produce aerial roots and small, round berry shaped figs. Even the small trees will drop aerial roots and fruit with time and a shaded location. The glossy dark green leaves can be round or slender and pointed. The slender variety does not always produce figs. Though best kept outside, these trees do well inside with bright light. Protect from freezing.
